Our Love Story
Over thirteen and a half years before the aisle, two people stepped into a rehearsal room and spotted each other.
How in the hell did we get here.
FAQs
-
Shuttles will be departing Aura Accommodation at 1.30pm on Saturday, heading for Whakarewarewa Forest for the ceremony. Following the ceremony, shuttles will transport everyone (excluding those taking photos) to the reception venue for cocktail hour. The reception venue is a short walk directly across the park from Aura Accommodation.
-
We have organised transport to and from the ceremony venue in order to reduce the likelihood of anyone needing to drive. However if you choose to drive yourself, there is a large parking lot at the ceremony venue where cars can be kept overnight. However, all cars must be picked up by 10am the next morning (or risk getting towed). We care about you so much, so please do not drink and drive.
-
We ask that all guest arrive at the ceremony venue by no later than 2pm. The ceremony will start promptly at 2.30pm. If you are travelling from the accommodation, the shuttle will leave promptly at 1.30pm. This is to ensure all guests have time to arrive, find their seat, and settle in prior to the beginning of the ceremony. If you are driving yourself, we ask that you arrive at the ceremony site by 2.00pm to allow for the above. Once the ceremony begins, no one will be permitted to enter the venue space.

We know that some people love a dress code and some people hate a dress code so we want to be clear: the most important thing to us is that you are comfortable in whatever you wear on the day. We only ask that you please do not wear a white outfit (White suit shirts are fine). That being said, we also know that some of you love clear instructions, so:
The dress code for the wedding day is semi-formal. This means knee-length or longer dresses, or collared shirts and dress pants with no tie and no patterned/logo clothing or denim jeans.
And in case you are looking to steer away from looking like one of the wedding party (or stirring the pot by aiming to look like exactly that) a sample of our wedding’s key colour scheme is available in the ‘FAQs’ page of this website. Press the button below to take you there.
-
Due to a limited venue capacity and in order to keep our wedding as intimate as possible, only those whose names are printed on your invitation are able to RSVP for our wedding. As much as we love your little ones (and your furry little ones), we hope you are able to take a night off and join us!
-
Our ring bearer and two flowergirls will be in attendance at the ceremony and part of the reception, they range in age from just one day off 2 to 3 ¾. These kids are a big part of our lives and we feel so privileged to be able to have them here on our big day. They will each be accompanied by a supervisor throughout the evening so our bridal party can also have a night off and join us for the entirety of the celebration.

We have created a ‘Travel & Accommodation’ page on our website, for your convenience. In this page, you will find links to Aura Accommodation and other places to stay in the area which are close to our ceremony and reception area. We recommend staying at Aura Accommodation as the discounted price is lower than any other accommodation in the area of the same quality, it will be exclusively used by our wedding guests that weekend, and it is also where the shuttle to the ceremony will be leaving. If you are thinking of drinking (and do not have a designated driver) we recommend staying within walking distance of our reception venue.
The discount code and further details on how to book Aura Accommodation is both above and in the ‘Travel & Accommodation’ page of this website.

We’re incredibly grateful to have such generous family and friends, however with (almost) everyone of you travelling up to see us tie the knot, we want everyone to know that no gift is expected from anyone.
If you would still like to support us in our ‘Honeymoon’ off to the U.K., we have created a registry in which you can ‘purchase’ certain household items or experiences for us, for when we move. This registry is available through the ‘Registry’ page on the website.
There will also be a card box at our reception, if anyone would like to write us their best wishes or top tips for married life!
-
Our reception venue will close just before midnight, when our MC will play us off the dance floor. Afterwards, if the mood is right, we might head to the accommodation for a midnight snack and a final drink. Everyone is invited - just follow the wedding party!
-
We have been lucky enough to secure a limited amount of free drinks for the evening, so your first drinks are on us but once that tab runs out, it (and the hangover) are on you!
If you are not staying close to the reception, please arrange transportation from the venue if you plan on drinking.
Drink responsibly, the bartenders have been instructed to cut off anyone that looks too drunk, we want all our loved ones to make it home safe!

Yes! We are inviting everyone to join us on Friday 7 November at a local pub to begin the weekend with some kai and friendly faces.
On Sunday 9 November, we will be hosting a brunch with an open door policy so stop by for a cup of tea, a pastry, and a hug before heading home.
